Range Rules

  • Grounds & Rounds, LLC is a tobacco-free facility.

  • No one under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be permitted inside the Grounds & Rounds Shooting Range.

  • No food or drink will be permitted on the range.

  • Expectant mothers are not allowed on the range.

  • No one under 18 is allowed on the range without a parent or guardian.

  • Children under 12 are not permitted on the range unless accompanied by their responsible adult.

  • No unsupervised children on the range.

  • Eye and Ear protection must always be worn while on the range.

  • All range commands must be followed immediately. When hearing the command, “Cease fire”, immediately stop shooting, place the firearm on the bench pointed down range, and step back behind the shooting stall. 

  • Customers are prohibited from removing a firearm from a holster or a case anywhere on the property, except within a shooting stall.

  • All firearms must be pointed downrange when unholstered or uncased.

  • If you wish to exit the stall, the firearm must be left on the shooting bench, unloaded, and pointed downrange with the action open.

  • If you experience a stoppage or malfunction and need assistance, keep the muzzle pointed downrange while seeking assistance from range staff. Do not remove the firearm from the shooting stall until range staff has cleared the firearm.

  • Tracer, armor-piercing, steel core, and bimetal ammunition are not allowed on the range. Range Staff has the right to inspect and prohibit any ammunition they deem inappropriate for the range.

  • Hand-loaded ammunition may be used but must adhere to manufacturer specifications

  • Only ammunition purchased from Grounds & Rounds, LLC, will be allowed for use in rental firearms.

  • There will be no more than three shooters per shooting stall unless authorized by a Range Safety Officer.

  • The shooter may fire only one gun at a time. A maximum of two firearms may be on the shooting bench per lane, regardless of the number of shooters. Firearms not currently in use must be pointed downrange, unloaded, and action open.

  • Do not hand a loaded firearm to another person. Place the firearm on the shooting bench and allow the other person to pick it up from the bench.

  • No one is permitted forward of the firing line unless under direct authorization from Range Staff.

  • Items that fall forward of the firing line will remain where they fell until the RSO can create a safe condition to retrieve the item(s).

  • Targets purchased from Grounds & Rounds, LLC are highly recommended. Personal targets can be used but must be approved by range staff prior to use.

  • Firing at anything other than your own target is prohibited. Firing a shot that results in damage to the range will result in a repair fee and/or dismissal from the range.

  • Dry firing is allowed on the firing line only

  • Shooters will not be permitted to fire more than one round per second unless they possess the proper Enhanced Firearms Qualification.

  • Drawing from a holster while on the range is prohibited except for shooters who possess a Handgun Enhanced Firearms Qualification from Grounds & Rounds, LLC.

  • No muzzleloaders allowed on the range.

  • A valid government photo ID is required to rent firearms and to use the range.

  • Firearms approved for range usage are handguns and rifles up to 338 Lapua  and shotguns with 00 buckshot or single projectiles (slugs). No pistol grip, only shotguns or firing from the hip will be permitted.

  • All shotgun targets must be placed at no less than 15 yards.

  • Be sure your firearm is safe to operate and you know how to use it safely. Please see the Range Staff if you have any questions.

  • All center-fire rifles must be shot at no less than 15 yards unless the shooter possesses a Rifle Enhanced Firearms Qualification, in which case the closest acceptable distance will be 10 meters.

  • Shooters are allowed to pick up only their brass as long as it is within their shooting stall and not forward of the firing line.

  • Report any malfunctioning and or damaged equipment immediately to range staff.

  • Report all violations of range rules to Range Staff.

  • Grounds & Rounds, LLC reserves the right to refuse service to any individual who we believe would endanger patrons or staff. Any unsafe conduct may result in immediate dismissal from the range.
